Restaurant Review: New Pio Pio Location = For The WIN!

Pio Pio
604 10th Ave.
NY, NY 10036
212 – 459‑2929

As of right now, the only way to find this newest addition to the Pio Pio empire is to accidentally stumble upon it. It’s location is not even posted on the website yet! So, of course, when I came across it while walking down the street, I just had to make a detour to stop in.

For the most part, it’s your typical Pio Pio with the same menu of delicious chicken and side dishes as its uptown counterpart. What really sets it apart is the decor. It will totally throw you for a loop. The eatery is unexpectedly large and it seems the owners had a lot of fun decorating it. The vibe is very nouveau rustic with lots of wood, shiny gold, and beautiful photos of Peru. It’s only been open for a month, but there were already a bunch of regulars hanging out there. Dine by the bar, or in the humongous downstairs dining room. It’s an impressive view from up top. Like I said, you won’t find any info on the internet just yet, but I wanted to let all you Pio Pio lovers know about this sweet new location!

Restaurant Review: Blend in LIC Has Reasons to Celebrate

By: Pianca Pink.

blends

Restaurant: Blend

Location: 47 – 04 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City, NY

Website: www.blendlic.com

If you are in a mood for some awesome Latin fusion food, then Blend is certainly the restaurant you would want to choose. From their infamous “Arroz con Pollo” to their mouth-watering “Churrasco”, I kid you not when I say that our favorite Latin dishes never tasted this good since grandma on her best day. My personal favorite are their appetizer’s, from the great tapatizers, to the quesadilla and to the top on my list are those adorable empanadas! They come in a 5 piece sampler with pollo (chicken), carne (braised beef short rib), queso (cheese), chorizo (spanish sausage) and espinaca y queso (spinach & cheese). A great options for those who can’t ever decide… like me! lol

Blend Restaurant also just obtained their liquor license and will now offer a complete experience for enjoying your favorite cocktail while you’re savoring their delicious dishes. Long Island City has now made the notion of just stopping by for some drinks with good company, a great idea and with that said Congratulations to the Blends team… You will be seeing me and my beautiful friends soon enough. : )
