Jay Z took on the stage at Madison Square Garden on 9/11 in true Brooklyn form, where he can never do any wrong. If anyone ever forgot why they were a fan, well this concert certainly reminded them of it, including me. I must say, watching this concert on television sort of made a tad bit envious of those in the Garden feeling it live and up close… The show was success and all the proceeds went to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund in honor of September 11. Check out the pics below…

Note to MTV: Cut Liquor Out of the Budget Next Year!

Sooooooo.…wow what a show! And MTV didn’t even plan out the best parts! LOL The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards took place in my hometown, New York City in the famous Radio City Music Hall!
Let’s commence with the objective of all these special collaborations. The Michael Jackson Tribute! Did MTV triumph BET’s attempt? Most definitely! Opening the show — the Queen of Pop spoke on the King of Pop. Madonna shared with the world, her relationship with MJ. Her heart felt words touched all of his fans and nothing less would’ve been appropriate! Then dancers in character colladed a homage to the King of Pop, to his greatest hits and enters Janet Jackson! She performed the chart topper Scream as the video played in the big screen, as if she were singing it live with her brother. Truly dope, well produced and Janet nailed it. As a fan I commend her, no matter how much time has passed, it never gets easier!
Unfortunately, the Kanye West — Taylor Swift incident robbed the tribute’s thunder and is the most talked moment on twitter. Taylor Swift won Best Female Video and Kanye took her mic expressing Beyonce’s — Single Ladies was the best video of the decade and she deserved to win that award, gave back the mic and walked back to his seat to the boo’s of the crowd. Poor Taylor Swift left speechless and depressed. I mean it was her first VMA award…damn ‘Ye — you couldn’t let her shine? It’s not always about u homie!
Shortly after, Kanye ended up at home writing this apology to Taylor Swift on is blog… SMH @ you Yeezy!
“I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!! YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!! I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME… THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!! I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!”
What do we say, do we forgive him or not? Ehhh… I don’t know, might take some redemption for that one, Mr. West.
Moving on to this picture, it looks like Kanye got too Henny happy and soon after the incident he and his date were escorted out…smh! Blame it on the Henny I guess, Amber Rose keep an eye on your man!

T-Pain talkin’ crazy @ Rehab yet Jay-Z keeps his cool

T-Pain is obviously desperate for attention. How are you going to talk trash about Hov after you were on stage with him on summer jam like everything was all good. I mean really, I don’t get this dude and quite frankly, I’m not trying to.
T-Pain will never accomplish what Jay has so who really cares what he has to say… I surely don’t.

On the other hand, here is the audio of Jay’s response to T-Pains diss. As always, Jay is as cool as a cucumber and says he hopes T-Pain had fun saying what he said LOL…
Q-Tip & Mark Ronson present “Long Live the King! A Birthday Celebration for Michael Jackson” at the NOKIA Theatre NYC

Last night, on what would have been Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday, Q Tip, Mark Ronson, and DJ Spinna held a birthday celebration for The King of Pop at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, NYC.
From the minute I walked in the energy in this place was crazy. Packed wall to wall with all types of people dancing and singing in their MJ tees and shiny gloves. There is no doubt that Q-Tip and Mark Ronson had the crowd completely enthralled last night. I commend Mark Ronson for being strong and giving us a great performance despite the recent loss of DJ AM which was one of his best friends.
Most memorable moments were Quincy Jones calling in live, Tip bringing Marsha from Flowetry on stage for “butterflies”, Mark Ronson talking about DJ AM, and the funniest moment was Q-Tip and the whole venue doing the ELECTRIC SLIDE! LMAO! It was nothing but love in there!
Michael Jackson and DJ AM may no longer be here but they will definitely never be forgotten.
