Chen Wenling’s Bernie Madoff inspired Art is EPIC!

The latest Ber­nie Madoff-inspired art was dis­pla­yed at a Bei­jing art gallery on Sunday.

“What You see Might Not Be Real,” by Chen Wen­ling depicts the Ponzi sche­mer as a devil, horns and all. The bull, which repre­sents Wall Street, is far­ting because in Chi­nese “放屁” (fang pi) lite­rally means to fart, but in slang means to bluff or lie.

Bowery and Houston Loses Its Keith Haring Mural…

This wee­kend while out and about in the city after a long Barnes&noble day, I notice white paint all over the Keith Haring mural in the cor­ner of bowery and Hous­ton! Ahgg, I was truly upset by the fact the down­towns belo­ved “Day-Glo Mural” – 2008 re-creation, cour­tesy of Deitch Pro­ducts, of Haring’s short-lived 1982 ori­gi­nal is now gone. I found out that the newly blank can­vas will be going to the Bra­zi­lian graf­fiti artist Os Gemeos, also cour­tesy of Deitch.
